The Concern of Today's Pastor: "Do Revivals Still Work?"
“After a revival meeting a year ago in which the attendance and response was abysmal, I was concerned that another such failure would be the end of evangelistic revivals in our church. My worries were put to rest quickly as the members prayed and organized for revival, following many of the suggestions in Steve’s crusade manual. God blessed with 72 people making decisions for Christ.”
Bob Bacon, former Pastor, First Baptist Church in Carlsbad, N.M.
“In a day when the revival methodology is being questioned and disregarded by many pastors, our recent experience with Steve Hale would cause any skeptical pastor to reconsider. To my knowledge, our meeting with Steve exceeded any other revival in our church’s history. Attendance was outstanding, the Spirit was vibrating with expectancy, and the many professions of faith left us with much work to be done when the revival had concluded. According to NAMB statistics, we saw more saved in this one week than 98% of our church will baptize in a year. Yes, revivals still work and Steve’s preparation manual is one of the best to help make it a reality.”
Dr. Mark Pitts, Pastor, Village Meadows Baptist Church, Sierra Vista, AZ.
“Many pastors tell me they no longer have revival services on weeknights because the attendance is so low that it is embarrassing. That was not true in our crusade with Dr. Steve Hale. God gave us record nightly attendance. One 78 year-old retired pastor said that it had been years since he had experienced anything like it. We have never had better preaching. Steve’s revival plans are extraordinarily good. He did not pressure anyone at the invitation.”
Gary Taylor, Former Pastor, First Baptist Church, O’Fallon, MO. (Currently serving at State Director of Evangelism for Missouri Baptist Convention.)
